Hayseed,
I can't say why it's wearing out but is the saw kept covered or just out in the weather? I blow the sawdust out of the clutch after each use not sure if it's necessary but the saw is about 10 yrs. old and once the clutch is locked up it still smokes the belt before it slips if I get going to fast. Is it installed exactly as per instructions. Forcing the saw with dull blades? Other than these few possibilitys sorry I have no suggestions.
