Setting Up Your Mill

Building and setting up your sawmill isn’t rocket science – Most owners handle it in a weekend. And you’ve probably already got all the tools you need: Combination and Allen wrenches, Phillips screwdriver, ratchet wrench with a set of sockets, grease gun and adjustable wrench.

If you can use these tools, you’ve got all that’s needed to assemble a Norwood portable sawmill. To help you put it together, we give you a fully illustrated manual that leads you, step-by-step, through the whole process.  It’s packed with exploded diagrams, cutaways, photographs and checklists – all written in plain English.  And we back it up with unlimited toll-free support – from the moment your Norwood sawmill arrives, through the first trial cuts, through to full production and beyond.

"The LumberMate does everything Norwood said it would do.  It went together perfectly and arrived in excellent condition.

If you would like to receive your sawmill carriage pre-assembled in Africa, simply call +27 (0) 83 284 4455. The main frame components will be assembled right at Norwood's distribution center in South Africa and shipped direct to you on an oversized pallet, with the log deck unassembled to keep shipment volume, and cost, to a minimum.  Factory-assembly of entire mill also available.*

You will always have technical support - Norwood factory-trained technicians located in South Africa and Zambia are just a phone call away!

* Departure from Norwood could require an additional one to three weeks. An assembly charge will apply. Freight costs are higher to ship a partially or fully assembled sawmill due to increased volume. Where saw carriage ships pre-assembled, assembly of log deck and some final assembly of saw carriage components still required. In all cases, engine and battery are shipped dry and customer is responsible for fully reading the manual and final adjustments once mill is on site.
