Warranty Policy and Guarantee

Disclaimer:

Norwood Industries Inc. and Norwood Enterprise Inc. (collectively “Norwood”) disclaim any responsibility or liability, in negligence or otherwise, for any injuries, damages or losses of any kind arising during the course of assembling, operating or handling this equipment, options, accessories or blades howsoever caused.

Responsibility for final inspection of the Norwood sawmill parts and components, and the assembly, maintenance and safe use of the equipment, lies solely with the person(s) who assembles and operates the equipment and handles blades.

Warranty:

Norwood warrants that each new Norwood will be free, under normal use and maintenance, from any defects in workmanship and materials for a period of TWO YEARS from the date of purchase by the original purchaser. Should any trouble develop during this two-year period, return the defective part (and any other parts if called for), freight prepaid, to Norwood. Warranty coverage commences from the date of purchase by the original purchaser.

If, after inspection, Norwood determines that the trouble is attributable to faulty workmanship or material at the time of manufacture, Norwood will repair or, at its option, replace the part at no charge.

This Warranty does not cover:

  1. The engine which is warranted directly by the engine manufacturer; Normal maintenance services;
  2. Repairs required where alterations have been made to the equipment, or as a result of the attachment or installation of any parts or devices on the equipment other than those manufactured by Norwood Industries Inc. specifically for the equipment;
  3. Repairs required after repairs have been made, or attempted to be made, by others;
  4. Repairs required as a result of collision, accident, misuse, abuse or lack of required maintenance;
  5. Repairs required because the equipment has not been assembled correctly;
  6. Consumable items such as belts, blades or ceramic blade guide inserts;
  7. Chips, scratches, rust or blemishes in the finish;
  8. Batteries (which are covered under warranty for 6 months).

*Norwood sawmills are protected by zinc plating and industrial-grade powder-coating. These finishes can chip or blemish during use or when exposed to certain conditions. To reduce onset of corrosion or blemishing, avoid exposing the sawmill to salt, either from winter roads or airborne particles of sea salt.

*It is always a good idea to keep spare parts on hand to ensure that your milling operation stays on schedule, particularly if you intend to mill commercially. At a minimum, you should keep adequate stock of blades, spare belts, bearings, blade guides/ceramic inserts and track sweepers.

Norwood warrants that new Norwood spare parts (except consumable items such as belts, blades or ceramic blade guide inserts) will be free, under normal use and maintenance, from any defects in workmanship and materials for a period of forty-five days from the date of purchase by the original purchaser.

Receiving Your Mill, 30-Day Guarantee, and Returns

Receiving your Sawmill

We insure your sawmill order with the carrier against loss or damage during shipping. The driver will ask you to sign that you have received your order complete and in good condition. Before signing, please take a few moments to ensure that you have indeed received everything complete and in good condition. To do that:

  • Begin by inspecting the shipment from the outside – Is the shrink-wrapping still tight and intact?
  • Find the packing list affixed to the outside of the shipment – It will list all of the boxes and pieces that we shipped to you (it will specify how many pieces we shipped to you and identify exactly each box/piece with a code).
  • Cut off the shrink wrapping to reveal your order – Do you have the correct number of boxes/pieces and do the boxes look intact?
  • Match the boxes/pieces you have received against the list of boxes/pieces we shipped to you as listed on the packing list.

If you believe that you are missing a box/piece or a box is damaged, note details on the driver’s copy of the waybill before you sign. Then contact us at 1-800-567-0404 and we will help you. If you are being serviced by an international Norwood dealer, call your Norwood dealer directly. When you sign that you have received everything complete and in good condition, the insurance is closed and no claims may be made. This important process takes only a few minutes. You do not need to open individual boxes to check their contents at the time of delivery. The driver is expected to accommodate your request to take these few minutes to verify your order before signing. If you have any questions during the receiving process, please call us.

Sales to Non-Registered Norwood Owners

The parts and attachments Norwood manufactures are designed to work with Norwood sawmills only. Norwood parts and attachments are only sold to registered Norwood owners, so that we know that they will safely function with your mill. No parts and attachments will be sold to persons who are not registered owners of a Norwood sawmill.

Returns of Sawmills – Norwood 30-Day Guarantee

We know that you will be 100% satisfied with the value and performance of your Norwood sawmill. We back that up with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If your Norwood equipment does not do everything we say, simply return it to us within 30 days and receive a refund (shipping and consumed items not included). Customers are responsible to arrange and pay for the shipping to safely return any items.

Returns of Parts & Attachments

If you have made an attachment or parts purchase, returns are made at the discretion of Norwood customer service, and a restocking fee may apply. Customers are responsible to arrange and pay for the shipping to safely return any items.

IMPORTANT

To ensure that you receive the best possible value, Norwood ships all equipment in knock-down form with step-by-step assembly instructions and detailed illustrations, exploded views and photos.

IMPORTANT

In all cases, before signing for any shipment (by signing the freight waybill or packing slip), check your order carefully upon delivery to ensure that you receive all pieces and boxes listed on your packing slip and that they are all in good order. All claims not reported in writing on the freight waybill at the time of delivery become the sole responsibility of the purchaser; failure to report missing or damaged pieces and boxes in writing on the freight waybill at the time of delivery nullifies your insurance and precludes any subsequent claims.

Elective returns of mills or mill components are subject to a 15% restocking fee.

IMPORTANT

Specifications, designs, descriptions, illustrative material and prices in this and all Norwood print and online media are as accurate as known at the time of publication but are subject to change without notice. Illustrations may include optional equipment and accessories and may not include all standard equipment. This literature has been compiled for worldwide circulation; while general information, pictures and descriptions are provided, some illustrations and text may include product features, options and accessories not available in all regions.
