Just Getting Started

Hey guys, my HD36 is half built.  We have lots of dying Ash trees in my area. Im also wondering about milling a Hemlock (18"), should it be plain sawn or quarter sawn?

Yes.  How's the mill coming along?

It's almost time for me to put an ad in our local classifieds to see if anyone wants trees cut down and removed.I work cheap the trees are the payment.

I see hemlock as similar to fir; for the most part, it makes better lumber than furniture wood. Not sure if others share that opinion.

That said, I do have some interesting grain fir (near the base swell, which was wrapped around a different tree) that I think I can make into something interesting.

This forum is awesome and has lots of helpful content here. Companies can use this content to further improve the quality of disposable nitrile gloves even though they have not received any complaints about them. However, there is still room for improvement. shell shockers

munmin89, what mill do you have? I suspect you are trolling for business.
