Put stickers between the top of the stack and the concrete blocks, and they'll work great.

Good point, Post Oakie.  Will do.  The thing is, it was really a suggestion that the original poster needs - we tend to focus on our lumber piles, but weight is weight.  If you've got a stack of old railroad ties going unwanted, use those.  Concrete blocks?  Sure.  What he needs to do is provide a resistance to the wood's natural tendency to twist.

Anchorseal is worth the $$ if you dry a lot of lumber. Also put stickers close to the end of the boards doing this will (usually) limit any end checking to the end stickers.
