Throttle cable for LM29
Does anyone know where I can get a throttle cable for my LM29? The case is about 87" and the cable is about 91". I can't find the parts catalog for my mill on the Norwood site and I imagine I can get one cheaper elsewhere, if I can find one with the ring on the end. Thanks

A choke or throttle cable at any auto parts store.

I've found all sorts of cables online but none with a z-bend at one end and a ring at the other. Also, I can't just replace the inside cable as the conduit is badly kinked. The z-bend goes into a small hole in the throttle linkage. If I can come up with a way to attach a cable there I can make it work.

try reliable aftermarket parts they seem to have many different sizes and configurations of what you need. an example. https://www.ebay.com/itm/401963140263? For a loop you could just use a piece of small copper tubing to make a ferrel then make your loop and crimp the ferrel

Thanks for the info. I ordered this one... https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B082XR6SYT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_titl... I looked at ones like you shared, but the z-bend is too thick; the opening on the throttle is only about 1mm. I am going to try attaching a thinner z-bend to the end of the cable with a ferrule or slide the cable through the throttle linkage and crimp a ferrule on the end. Still no response from Norwood.

I like what you found. It also appears that we are thinking much alike. If the cable is steel and small you could solder the last inch or so then shape it into a z bend. on my RC airplane engine carbs I use a little brass adapter that has a small pin that goes into the carb linkage then the cable goes into the adapter with a set screw to lock it.

Haha, I build scratch RC planes as well and I was thinking of trying the same thing! I've already constructed the z-bend and am just waiting for the cable to arrive. The cable I removed was wire rope and I am guessing the one I bought will be wire rope as well.

crazy how things come together. I have soldered sullivan 4-40 solder clevices many times for push rods ends as well as throttle using the braided steel wire. to make an easy loop you could also use a wheel collar instead of a ferrel.
