Map us

[email protected], could you please consider mapping us as dots on a large map of Canada and USA. It would be fun to see where our norwood brethren live.   I use www.batchgeo.com to map all of my customers and it works well and is free. No need to post addresses and personal info. As time goes on perhaps a directory will be in order.

Cool Bill, I hadn't paged down enough to see the address area of the signin. Try again.

Did you ever get a response?  Although it would be interesting, I expect that Norwood has issues with revealing it's users private info.  We might have to consent in order for them to use the data in a map showing locations.

Couple of things smiley what's it like when Bill licks you. (sorry Bill some days I just can't help it) Just a quick yes or no would do it for Norwood to post that. And I think that would be great to have, as well have it visible to non owners, that way they could see if there was someone local with a mill to look at or possibly contact for what ever service you may offer. That's if you agree to allow that content and have that as an option.

Come on Norwood give it a thought.

BMW  has an owners club based on that. People across the country volunteer to have there names and #'s posted in the yearly catalog and if you need help with something you can call whomever you are close to. If Norwood did that then people would be beating on my door and clogging up my phone line to get my help and so for my own sanity I'd like to see my Name and city listed and not much else. It would be fun.

Bill, Sorry it took me so long to respond. I've been on and off the grid, traveling, and in a great hurry for the past many weeks and have not had time for a proper reply. The cell phone is difficult to see maps with. From your maps I can see things are very different where you live in that you and your neighbors live in castles with mown lawns and vegetable gardens, all located in beautiful green valleys between green mountains. In the US even the richest of us live in sheds in swamps and the government provides all of our needs. wink

Seriously, it looks like a nifty, clean, self sufficient area with allot of horticultural variability. Missing perhaps allot of hardwoods but pretty interesting both geologically and topographically. You've mentioned that you have some cedar. It looks like you are just barely in its range(below), how lucky. I guess the mountains and coastal storms work to moderate the weather a little compared to further east. I look forward to future posts. photo 220px-Thuja_plicata_range_zps2ta04nmt.png

Bill, looking at the satellite , it looks like there is nothing but  forrest to the east of you . Is that also mountain and how many acres do you have ?

Wayne.

Wayne yes that's a mt. with a ski hill on the other side ( Silver Star Ski Resort) I have 30 acres backed on to crown land . Over the yrs. I've built miles of skid trails and access any trees that die all over the mt. side. There's no shortage of trees here mostly fir a little higher up tamarack as well & plenty of cedar as well on our property .

I use the interactive radar from the local tv station- zoom out and drag the cursor across the US and up to Vancouver. After a couple of cross-checks with a map I found Armstrong to the northeast. Then Eagle Rock Rd to Simon's. Here in Indiana when I zoom in I can get an aerial view from around a couple thousand feet but when I got to Vancouver the close as I could get looked like a view from a satellite- no details.frown maybe I'll try Google-earth. I kind of feel like a stalker after photobucket and a virtual drive  and then a view from above. Wow! The age of info. Too much??

Depending on locale, sometimes images at Bing Maps are more up to date, and/or higher resolution.  It's worth a check.

As to the posting pics elsewhere but not on here. For me it is just way to much of a hassle to get a new photobucket acct jump through a bunch of hoops ( I am retired after 40 years of hoops I am not interested in any more) to prepare my pics to fit then hope they dont wind up with broken links like a lot of pics I try to see on here. I  have posted some on the Norwood fb page and gotten a lot of comments and shares which is awesome. The downside to that is I wont add any more friends as I only use fb to keep in touch with my family and a few close friends. Besides my political rants would probably offend a lot of ppl lol.

PS. I live in Cartersville GA about a mile south of the airport on hiway 61 if any one wants to look at my area. Also if you see a fb post on the Norwood fb page by Wayne Mead that is I.
