Operating the motor

Hello fellow sawyers. I am having issues with my altenator belt. I have changed it a number of times which now I feel I have to have at least one spare handy. The original belt was a notched type and I am trying the solid type so I have no issues with the knobs breaking off. Other than that I love my HD 36 with its hydraulics. Is this supposedly the norm or is there a way to correct this.

what hp is the engine? only issue with mine is that the starter stuck and i had to unhook the terminals. Fine when i reattached them. do you have the remote control for carriage and height? If you do check out the sealed control box for moisture. I have issues and no help from Norwood.

Hi Mike ,I believe it's a 24 h motor. I haven't had any other issues with the "brainbox" I just seem to be going through quite a few alternator belts. It's been a concern so I watch the belt all the time. A broken belt does make a mess of the housing it rides in .

Thanks Mike, I will check the brain box then. I always cover the mill after use so I can't see rainwater getting in there...maybe condensation? I really don't know how or what calibrations could be done to correct my belts breaking. So far I have gone through a few logs with no issues.Touch wood !

I will check out mine. Other than a stuck starter it works as it should. Lucky that I had shut off the engine and heard the starter. Otherwise, I am sure it would have burned up the starter. You should open the "brain box" and check it. Somehow moisture got in mine and it ruined the computer board. Its on the left side. I put in packages of drying agent. The mill will NOT operate without its brain.
