Communication issues with Norwood Customer Service
I’m wondering if anyone else is having issues with Norwood Customer Service. I ordered and paid for some ceramic blocks and blades on 5/4/2021 and a gentleman, Michael, did reply to a few inquires. I asked if the ceramics could be sent and I could wait for the new blades. He shared that it if I did that, the order for blades would go back to the bottoms of the list and I would have to pay separate shipping costs. So all I’m getting is computerized responses now that they haven’t forgotten me. I’ve asked and received no reply on when I can expect shipment.

Two foot bed extension
Hi, I'm looking for a bed extension to fit a LumberMatePro. These are back ordered and not expected in for many months. I'm wondering if anyone in Southern Ontario might have one extra to sell. I would be interested in either a two-foot or a four-foot extension. Thanks, Warren........

Throttle cable for LM29
Does anyone know where I can get a throttle cable for my LM29? The case is about 87" and the cable is about 91". I can't find the parts catalog for my mill on the Norwood site and I imagine I can get one cheaper elsewhere, if I can find one with the ring on the end. Thanks

Advice on selling my LM29

Hi, The time has come to part with my LM29. My heart is still in it but my back says otherwise. I am trying to figure out what a good price would be for the mill. It has about 100 hours on it,it has a 4' bed extension, 13hp Honda engine, and least 10 blades. It runs perfectly. I've looked on Craigslist but can't seem to find any prices . What are your ideas of its value? is there somewhere else I can look for a price? Thanks, David Campton, NH

Communication with someone at norwood

Getting frustrated with someone trying to help me with this problem with the wear i am getting on the saw head from the tensioner i welded 1/8 steel on top and bottom still wearing into it. I put new belts from norwood, new rollers, and new tension spring also aligned the wheels with the string method and new thrust washers on band wheels, bearings in band wheels are good no play and well greased. Any body else having issues with trying to talk with any body at norwood.

Can we talk sharpeners
Looks like I will be losing my local go to sharpener this spring. Sold his business and they are moving it. Less than an hour away but in the wrong direction for me. Has me thinking about sharpening my own blades. So what’s everyone else using or doing? Any love for the Norwood products? I see in another thread some negative discussion about the Norwood sharpening wheels or discs. Could I get away without a setter? I’m just a hobbyist when it comes to milling. So I wouldn’t say I go through a lot of blades. And to be honest I’m not sure I want the bother of doing my own blades.

trailer tire bolt pattern
Hi everyone, does anybody know the bolt pattern for the hd36 trailer tire, my mill is snowed in at the cabin and I need it at home so I'm gonna build some skis that will bolt on when I take the tires off then I will tow it 25k.m. with my side by side equipped with tracks to my pickup then simply put tires back on and tow it the rest of the way home.

LOG BED BOW (SWALE)

NOT A FIRST TIME PROBLEM HERE: Howdy all, so I'm a Norwood HD36 owner and sorta proud of it to. I like the saw, take care of it and respect it. My favorite thing to do when I'm not with the wife. Make all sorts of lumber, have all sorts of species of logs and like doing so. But my deck gets a bow or swale in it. Some say it's from putting heavy logs on it, do you think? Whatever.....that it develops and keeps me from cutting true is a major issue.

Clutch
Well guess it had to happen sooner or later . Started to saw yesterday and the blade quit spinning as soon as it got into the wood with a little investigation figured it was the clutch. Pulled it off and there's no sign of a keyway slot in the clutch or any sign of the keyway stock. How it's been sawing at all I have no idea but I'm now shopping for a new clutch. I'd like to just phone up Norwood and order one but there's none listed on their site and the last time I seen one seems they wanted $200 more than anyone else.

Breaking bands
I’ve had my mill coming on two years now. I’ve recently broken two bands(third in total). Each time the belt came off. Any way to know for sure if the broken band is throwing the belt off,or is the belt coming off breaking the bands. Is there a point where you no longer use a blade? My sharpener just says use it til it breaks. Which is what I’m doing. I’ve failed to record how many times each blade has been sharpened but some could have been sharpened a half dozen times. So I’m assuming the blades are just over used. When I put the belt back on it seems tight enough.

industrial bandsaw sharpener
Is there anywhere I can get a printed copy of the manual or download a copy. I have the industrial bandsaw sharpener I purchased in 2008. It has gotten way out of adjustment and I cannot remember what all of the adjusters do. I think my little helpers turned every thing they could turn. I have it where it advances the blade correctly but wants to cut the gullet flat. Bud

Trueing up the sawmill / adjustments
Thanks for all who have given help and advice in the past. I have used much of this. I have had my sawmill for several years now and mainly use it for the farm, however, I also make furniture and need to produce better quality. I found a video or series of videos that were very helpful to get it back to true. One of the things was to level the rails and bunk. What I found was when I leveled the front half, the rear was off and vice versa, which means I have a bow, also my bunks are not at the same level either.

Belt replacement. LM-29
Had an incident today where the drive belt came off. I tightened the tensioner and carried on. But noticed I was at the end of the line on the tensioner. So later that day decided to pick up a new belt at the local auto parts store. Went ahead and swapped the belt. But the new belt wants to twist off. Adjusted the wheel to get it running flat but that sets the blade ahead of the wheel quite a bit. I remember having a hard time getting the Belt to stay on when I first put the mill together.

milling red cedar logs
Anybody out there mill red cedar and have issues, i was cutting 1 inch boards and then board would start to bow. The log was tapered i leveled the log for the first cut and then rolled it 180 degrees and started making boards. Is there a special way to make boards with a tapered log.

The waiting is the hardest part
Hi Everyone Well I find myself stuck at home and was going to saw some logs, got started and my power feed broke. So as i wait for someone at Norwood who can help me troubleshoot the issue I am doing some checking on my own.If anyone has a HD36 with Powerfeed and would be willing to take a photo of the inside wiring of their control box esp. the wires going into that relay I would be most grateful. Also if you have that HD36 with power up and down are you able to adjust the up and down speed with the variable adjustment on the pendent.

Looking for Norwood Sawmill owners in S.C., N.C. GA. and TN that have Hydraulics, Powerfeed and Setworks

I have a Norwood HG36 sawmill and am interested in adding hydraulics, powerfeed and setworks. I live in Northern S.C. and would like to see a mill with these options in action. I am very interested but want to see a mill before I spend the money to add these options. I would be interested in visiting someone in SC,NC, GA or TN and see their mill If it is within a 100 miles of my home. If you would be willing to let me see your mill sawing lumber, please contact me at 864-238-9485 or [email protected].
