survey

hi..... i just took the survey sent to me..... at first i thought it might be a help us improve type survey...... by the time i finished it seemed more of a satisfaction type survey for marketing purposes..... don't worry, i gave norwood the honest high marks they deserved....

a true help us improve type survey would be beneficial to norwood and future buyers....

the questions would be different of course.....

questions like,

what broke first....

what bent first.....

what went out of alignment first......

The Norwood Sawyers

I was just thinking it would be a good idea if they had a new post for us The Norwood Sawyers so that we could tell the Norwood community who we are, why we bought a Norwood as apposed to someone else is, where we are located approximaty, maybe type of wood we saw, and possibly PM address.and anything I can think about, oh and one or two pictures of our Norwood setup.

What you say Norwood.

1 new mwssage

I come read new messages almost every day, when I am done reading them, I use the drop down to "Mark all forums read"

Sometime in the last week or so the "Norwood Sawmills & Equipment Forum" forum started to say there is "1 new " even after marking them all read

If I click on the "1 new" is takes me to were I would normally see the new topics but there is no un read topics

I have even tried using the "Mark all topics read" with no luck..

I am curious if this is happening to other and / or if this is a bug in the forum.

Thanks

Instructional video

Has Norwood ever made or considered making a series of instructional videos on sawmill operation and lumber production? I know woodmizer makes one but if I bought it I would kind of feel I was cheating on Norwood.

Online Ordering

It is too bad that you can't order accessories for our mills online. There is a place to order mills but if you want just a box blades etc. you can't. Also when I went to the online ordering section from being logged in on the forum, the site doesn't recognize me being logged in. I think it would be as a Norwood mill owner at least, nice to be able to buy accessories online because it is hard for me to always get on a phone to order what I would like.

How do others feel?

Cheers!

Steve

Potential New Owner

Earlier today, I sent in a few questions about the new HD 36.  Do you sensor the posts first?  I hope that my questions get answered by anyone including Norwood employees.

Thank you,

Glenn Samuels

So I started a new post introducing myself and now it tells me when I click on it that I am not authorized to view and it automatically logs me off.

Is this normal for a new member?

Map us

[email protected], could you please consider mapping us as dots on a large map of Canada and USA. It would be fun to see where our norwood brethren live.   I use www.batchgeo.com to map all of my customers and it works well and is free. No need to post addresses and personal info. As time goes on perhaps a directory will be in order.

Can't seem to post in the Sawmill and woodprocessing

Can't seem to post in the Sawmill and wood processing section under the post by Bill about "Sawing". He put up nice pics and I wanted to post but when I view his post the site boots me out and asks me to log in if I want to post. This also happens with Eddimac's post on "look what I made". I am logged in. So wondering if any body else is having a problem?

Cheers!

Suggestion : Other Norwood Portable Sawmill Owners Close By?

Are there other Norwood Portable Sawmill owners in your area? Wouldn't it be great if there was a list or map of other sawmill owners willing to put up a demonstration or give advice on assembly, maintenance, milling etc.

Suggestion Box

Good morning fellow sawyers,

My suggestion is to have an

1) Introduction Forum - a place where we can introduce ourselves, where we are from, etc.
2) Project - a place where we can post our projects or ask assistance for projects.
3) Norwood Sawmills & Equipment Forum - I know that this already exists but it would be nice if this could be divided into sub sections like blades & maintenance, leveling, oil & maintenance, etc.

Posting Photos

Norwood has changed the way you upload photos to the forum.  Much simpler, and best of all NO PHOTOBUCKET!  Here's what works for me.

1: Make sure your image is under 2 megabytes.  Those of us with slow internet will thank you if you can keep the images under 500K.  You can adjust the size by opening the image in Microsoft Office, then exporting as a smaller format size.

2: Select the location where the photo is to occur by clicking to set the cursor there.  Usually, the end of the document is best.

How to post a Photo 3: Posting the photo

The first two segments of this subject explained how to get a photo onto Photobucket.  Your image is now on a cloud out there somewhere in etherspace.

1.  Open Photobucket in a seperate window.

2.  Locate the image you wish to use for your post.

3. Move the cursor over the image, but DO NOT CLICK THE MOUSE

4.  Move the cursor over the icon of the gear in the upper right corner of the image, but again do not click.

How to post a Photo 2: Photobucket

1. Select or create the folder for the photo (for example, you might want a folder just for sawmill photos).

2.  Click on the "Upload" button

3.  Open the folder with the photo, and drag it into the Photobucket upload window.

How to post a photo 1: preparing the photo

There are  lot of new Norwood owners, and I'd love to see pictures of what they're doing with their mills.  Posting pictures is a several-step process, so I thought I'd outline the technique that I use.  The specific instructions are for Windows, but the general idea would apply to Macs, as well.  What you need to do us to get your photo on an internet host site.  I use Photobucket. .  From there, you can link your photos to Norwood Connect.
