Hello iam new here got a hd36 I have cut quite a bit of cedar I got a chance to get some hemlock still standing never cut hemlock is it hard or easy on the blades Any insight would be great

Pretty easy. I think of it as a poor man's Fir. I like doug fir, I think hemlock twists a bit more, but not too bad.

Hemlock is good Mike. In some areas it tends to be hollow you can tell before you fall or cut it because it will have black knots on the truck. When I lived on the coast kiln dried hemlock was my favorite framing material. If not kiln dries it has a lot of shrinkage.

That’s good news but I just found out that this hemlock has been cut December 2018 and left in full lengths with limbs
Not sure of hemlock but I know red pine left with the bark on will be full of grubs in no time

Well one thing it should be easy to get the bark off now. I don't recall seeing a lot of bugs in Hemlock but I don't remember a lot of things.

I don't remember it being prone to bugs either. I think you're good.
