Lumber are 2000 shaking
I have had a problem appear lately when milling. The saw starts to shalme as if was grabbing and letting go. You can see on the cut grooves that seem to bounce. I have changed blades,slowed feed and checked alignment,still problem. Will also appear to produce a wavy board and sometimes dip drastically at eng of cut. Has been raining lately so have not had too much time to explore more. Has anyone else had a similar problem. Thanks fmac Equipment lumbermate 2000 Honda 20 running wood mixer diamond hard blades.

Could be the blade having a bad set tooth, but I had a similar problem on my LM29. I finally found the culprit; the leading blade guide bearings were frozen, so it wasn't spinning. For the day, I swapped the front and the back (the one after the blade leaves the wood), and that made it better. I found a local auto parts place that had the same size bearings, so it was a quick replacement.

I changed the blade when it started and it made it worse. Both guides are spinning fine. My next move is a through alignment check, maybe will find something there. Thanks for the help will keep posted. Fmac

fmac tell us more are they dry logs also what diameter maybe it will helps other with experiences come up with solutions. I've probably had everything happen that's possible but unfortunately forget most of the solutions I came up with.

The last log I was having trouble with was a 20 inch wide ambrosia maple,fresh cut. I have ordered an upgrade to ceramic guides and am going to do a complete alignment and see what that does, as soon as I get the guides. I mainly cut fresh softwood and hardwood. Appreciate the help will keep you posted. Fmac

fmac I've found if my saw is going to catch, vibrate, wrack ? it's with logs 20" or bigger but the wood I'm sawing is usually dead and slightly dry. Any dipping or rising has been either the band of going into a knot to fast I found if I slowed down a few "'s before the knot I could speed up again as so as I got to it because the blade wanted to follow the grain before the knot. Good luck with the ceramic guides I bought them used them for a wk. and took the off anyone wishing for some can have mine cheap. "Merry Christmas" everyone !!!

Same here; big logs with knots. Pitch can add to the blade catching. Do you lube your blade?

Another question: what is the hook angle of your WoodMizer blades?

My blades hav a 10 degree hook. I Run lube for the blade. Just got the ceramic guides.l am going to be out of town over the holidays so will take this project up when I return . Thanks for all the suggestions will keep posting when I return. Merry Christmas and a happy new year Fmac

My LM2K does that on big logs sometimes. It's almost like it needs a diagonal brace to brace it. My battery/water box is missing 2 bolts, so I figured if I replaced those it may help brace it. But since I guess I am too lazy to replace them, I just use my left hand on the throttle and my right hand on the corner of the head above the scale and push it from the side. This stops the wobbling. When my mill does this, a fresh blade only makes it wobble more. I only use water for lube and cut a lot of oak.

So far I have do not have the shaking problem since I aligned everything and installed the ceramic guides. I have about fourteen logs at the mill to process when the weather turns good. They will tell the story..I have had this lumbermate 2000 for a good while and for my purpose is really a fabulous saw, not a production machine but one you can do almost any cutting you want.. Fmac
