Norwood MX34 power feed
It's sawmill season and after year and half we finally got the MX34 power feed, got it installed this past winter, If I known Norwood was going to be cancel the MX34 model a year after I bought it I would've bought something else cause Norwood no longer advertises parts for that mill, let alone Norwood has been hard to get parts from and or contact........... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXbv0muNwsk

Really good video - I enjoyed it. MX34 looks identical to my HD36. Good to see an actual sawmill post on the forum.

Thanks I think Norwood should've continued the MX34 model, its all the mill I need........ My son is still in muscle memory mode, the video after this one below he smoked the belt on a big beech. When he brought the saw head back he didn't slow the control nob down so when he started to make the next cut the saw head went in the cut fast and stopped the blade, the belt started smoking and squealing, tried to adjust belt but it was slipping on rest of the beech log. Might have to buy new belt if cant find the sweet spot of no belt slipping and belt releasing, look into it this up coming weekend...... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmOkZ9Fxl7Y

Very cool - I’m still all manual and am planning to keep it that way for the foreseeable future. Would be nice to automate some day, but I’d probably just tear it up lol. Nice modification though. Hopefully we can keep the thread going without spammers jumping in here.

Unless you plan on selling lots of lumber it's not worth it. I wasn't going to add on but son had some cedar decking orders to buy it, he says if he's by him self it's easier so he gave me 3k and last I heard the power feed has gone up to $3,500.00 with sketchy instructions and no phone help.......

Lol took you all day to upload the video and 13 minutes for me to watch it - I think maybe I got the better end of the deal. Good video - nice straight logs and looks like they’re clear. Enjoyed it!!

Maybe it's my 5 year old iphone thats taking so long to up-load videos or Redzone wireless isn't as fast as cable but for the most part my internet works better than the telephone land line internet I had 3 years ago. It rained here yesterday, everywhere is nothing but mud so didn't get to saw any logs, maybe next week. Does the HD36 have those band tires? They are a pain to replace on MX34. I first thought they'd be great and last long time, been through around 4 pairs so far, not sure if I'm a fan or not, maybe all steel band wheels are better. HD36 has same or similar iron wheels with a3/4 belt for one tyre and the drive belt from the engine to the clutch for the other tyre. I have a spare set of belts and bearings on the truck in case I have a breakdown, but I haven’t had any problems so far. Personally I think the design on the 36 is pretty efficient - should last a long time and I grease bearings every blade change to purge any sawdust out of the bearings so bearings have lasted to. I’m happy with the mill - have thought about switching to something bigger but then I think about having to handle the logs and get back to work lol.

I cant imagine needing a bigger mill, logs 2' require to much work to roll on manual mill but I'd have to say the best feature on a Norwood MX34 mill is the slick log-dog system. And then the slabs, if not for cold weather I'd have another disposal problem....... L3400 lift maxed out.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjV8IaFPYnA&ab_channel=Job38Four

Thanks Bill, heres a two time video, you probably done the same thing, I think when doing small logs two at a time is faster. It's been awful rainy here past couple weeks so be another week or so before anymore new video, dont like mud milling....... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmOkZ9Fxl7Y&t=18s&ab_channel=Job38Four

Thanks again Oldpath - I love the fact that someone is taking the time and effort to post on the forum. I’m not much on making videos and have never posted to YouTube, but with my knee replacement surgery I’ve sawn every single log that YouTube has!!! 😂😜. I was thinking about trying to do a couple of videos but haven’t tried it yet.

Is anyone else having trouble with the forums flipping photos upside down?  Every time I try to bring in a picture it comes out upside down.

I'm not crazy about mud either . I have a no. of fir and cedar logs to get milled but it's been freezing and windy so I'll hold off for another wk. or so.

It was suppose to rain today but held off evening so we bundled up some oak slabs, and while doing this we noticed our slab deck is fast falling apart. Looks like another rebuild project on the list, trouble is the build list is adding up more than my ambition, hopefully the son will make up for it........ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Tm7GSFpYGM PS short videos uploads in 10 minutes......

The Norwood MX34 is a power distribution board that is designed specifically for Raspberry Pi 3B+ and 3A+ models. This board has a single USB port on it so you can attach your Raspberry Pi to one source of power. The MX34 also has an integrated 12V DC barrel plug for connecting to a car battery or other 12V source. It’s also built with the same circuit design as the MX3 (3A) so it’s compatible with all of the same add-on boards. fnaf 2 basketbros

I'm only working half days since I started my two month vacation last month, but sometimes when sawing lumber for a project, it seems like I'm working harder then I do at work, guess it's a working vacation.......

I like having a project gives incentive for me to mill . Milling is on hold until we get a break in the weather 100 degree heat doesn't agree with me. I have a pile of logs to deal with sure as heck if I saw them up a customer will come along and want a different size or length :o).

Gee I was complaining that its been 86-90* here in mid coast ME. And then about 4 hr and I'm done. Good thing this house audition is a two year project, it's already over budget and twenty years behind schedule......
