    Sawmill Savvy Minute - Scales are Calibrated Kerf-In

    The Norwood scale already has the "kerf" calculated in (the loss of wood due to the thickness of the blade cut).

    In this Sawmill Savvy Minute, Dave Boyt gives as an example milling 4/4 boards (1-inch). Simply lower the sawhead by one mark and the sawhead will automatically go down about 1 1/8" to account for the kerf to produce accurate 1" boards.
